lets just suppose some knothead went to lowes to pick up ice melt pellets and grabbed 2 bags of hardwood pellets ,the bag says hardwood pellets can they be used to smoke with in tray or tube?i had someone actually ask me if they would work on icy sidewalk. ahhh let me think about it no afterall im the rocket scientist who grabbed the wrong bags we will call it a senior moment thanks!

If food grade pellets, yes.
If heating pellets, no.
What brand and flavor wood?

I wouldn't use them on a icy foot path.
Those little round (frozen) turds make ice worse. I deal with that when I spill pellets filling the pooper hopper.

The only exception on pellets is those that use corn cob pellets from farm store. The pellets are sold for animal bedding, but members checked into the process and they originate from seed corn shelled cobs and they are clean.
