All,
I am new to posting in forums, so please forgive any mistakes I make.
Over a year ago, I purchased a Masterbuilt 800 Gravity Series smoker/grill and love it. I have cooked more meals on this grill than any other.
A little over three weeks ago now, I had a grease fire in the grill and it shot the temp over 965 degrees before I could get the fan off and the firebox blades inserted to choke the fire.
The fire burned itself out after about 15-20 minutes. The only damage I can see is that the inner coating of the grill is now flaking off like glitter and I do not know if it is safe to eat anything cooked in it now or if there is a way to seal the coating so that I may resume cooking.
I reached out to Masterbuilt, and their reply was that "My grill appears to be out of warranty and I should refer to the user manual for guidance."
Does anyone on this forum know what the inner coating on the 800 Series is made of and if it is safe to resume use?
I would hate to throw this grill away as I really do enjoy cooking with it.
