I live in Mississippi, 40 years old, married and have 3 kids 2,3, and 15. I have always had a charcoal grill of some sort and wood of choice is always hickory. I recently built a concrete block smoker and have been having fun trying to cook with it. I recently did the unthinkable and ordered an electric smoker with a cold smoke attachment. My smoking friend and lifelong friend of mine will probably behead me for such an act. I hope to uses my electric for cold smoking cheese and smoking pork belly mainly, I could never stray away from the tried and true charcoal/wood combination I've grown to love. I've been reading some great threads on electric smoking and look forward to learning more and more.

Welcome to the group!  No shame with the electrics!  Good to have you with us.

Welcome aboard!

No judging here, if it makes good smoke and good food, we use them!

Looking forward to seeing some of your cooks!

Thanks guys. This is my feeble attempt at a big pit for a whole hog soon. Have couple butts hanging inside now. The other is my future MES site coming in this week with cold smoker attachment. Gonna run the vent pipe 6 feet or so and try some cold smoking. Also have a huge pork belly cut six ways and will soon be ready to rinse, dry, and smoke. Gotta love it. Also have a ole smokey that I love. If I only had more money...
