First time smoker here, received a Great Outdoors Smokey Mountain Smoker from my family for Christmas. It's a propane fueled smoker.
Seasoned it up yesterday, and have thrown some country style pork ribs on today for a slow cook.
It's 27* here, with a light wind, and for the first hour regulating the temp to 225* was hell-to-pay.
I'm using wood from a granny smith apple tree that was in our property but died.
Dry rubbed the pork with a home-made jerk. [too many indredients to remember...lol]
Wanted a smoker for forever, and cannot wait for the slow cooked goodness.
Great forum!
