Hello all. I have been lurking here for a while and decided it was time to join. My history with smoking is limited. When much younger, some friends and I would smoke whole or half hogs for large parties. Fast forward a few years and I smoked some turkeys for family holiday meals. In the last few years I have been smoking some pork on a friends smoker but only once or twice a year.
Since retirement is approaching I decided it is time do dive in and get serious, so a smoker is in the near future. I have been reading a lot both here and other places and have settled on a propane smoker, probably a Pit Boss 3 series vertical. I know these are fairly new and I haven't see many real life reviews. Does anyone here use this smoker? I would love to hear some opinions.

Thanks
Big Glenn

Welcome to SMF!
Glad you decided to join us!
Don't know much about the Pit Boss though.
I'm sure someone will be along shortly who can help you.

Welcome to the fun. I too am not at all familiar with the PB3, but someone will chime in with some advice.

Hello from Florida. Bunny and I are relocating to Knoxville and really love East Tennessee. Although not familiar with PBPS, a Masterbuilt 40” propane was used to smoke briskets for our annual men’s conference at our church. They turned out great and the smoker seemed to keep a nice consistent temp.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. In spite of the lack of reviews I have decided to go with the Pit Boss 3 propane. My wife wants me to wait until Christmas. We will see about that. I think what convinced me was the dual burner system. One small burner and one large burner for a wider temp range. I guess we'll see. I am really looking forward to getting it. I will document the assembly and usage so I can possibly help someone else make a decision.
