Hi, I'm Michael, currently living in Dayton, OH.  I've done some limited meat smoking over the past few years, but I still am pretty new to the process.  I use a self-built electric-element Trash Can Smoker which has worked very well so far, and I'd be curious to see if there are any others using smokers built from unconventional materials.  So far this year, I've been doing about 2-3 smokes a month, and I want to get really good at it.  I read this forum often when searching for ideas or answers to questions, so I figured I might as well register.

Hello Michael, and welcome,  Lots of smoker builds and ideas on here

Thanks Gary! I'll put together a post on my build soon, which has an Arduino control board that manages temperature.

I'm also looking for advice after trying a few things recently, as I think I can make some improvements to my process.
