I'm new to the forum, but I've been smoking for 2 years now. I have a couple of 18" WSMs, and I primarily smoke pork butt and ribs, but looking to expand into brisket. Based in Chicago, but can often be found at the lake in Michigan.
OK here's one for you: In the mid-1950s my father took a summer assignment as a second-shift copy boy at the Sun-Times. He worked 5:00 - 12:00 so he was free in the mornings. So he was a buff beach bum on the Lake Michigan Shore.
