Hello out there...

While I am having a yummy beer, I thought I would reach out and say hello.  I just signed up for the forum tonight and have had a Smoker (never used) since December.  I picked up the Masterbuilt 30 electric smoker, but need a meat probe and the time to smoke.

Anyone want to advise me on the best low priced meat probe and what I should start out smoking?

Welcome to the forum!  A Thermo Pop is an excellent quick read thermometer, a Maverick is great for monitoring the IT and cook chamber temp. Accurate temps are a must for good bbq!

Since you have an electric smoker, a Digital Wireless like the Maverick ET-732 is Great, because you don't have to open the door to find out the Internal Meat Temp, and the other of the 2 probes is more accurate for telling your smoker Temp than the MES read-out is.

Here's a bunch of Step by Steps that could help you.(Below)

They were all done in a Masterbuilt Electric Smoker (MES):

Just click on "Bear's Step by Steps".
