Hello from Bucks County, Pa

Hi all! New to the forum but not to the hobby. I've been smoking, on and off, for a couple decades now (man, that's a lot of beer )

I've had horizontal smokers, some home made, verticals like my original Brinkman many moons ago and have been vertical ever since (until the beers kick in, of course). I currently have a Sears branded little gas smoker and wanted something bigger. I just couldn't stand cutting rib racks in half! I did some research and ordered a Masterbuilt GS40 (XL to you guys). After scouring the net for info, I stumbled onto your forum and the modders thread for this smoker. Good stuff. I thought I was the only lunatic who tweaks everything I buy.

I also grill (of course) and am a big fan of frying turkeys (and just about anything else).

The new smoker has shipped so you may get some more questions in the next week or so. Probably need some more grates...

Anyway, looking forward to being a member and sharing some stories.

Hey SQWIB, we're almost neighbors. My shop is in Warminster and I live in Newtown. Being a cigar lover I travel to Holt's on a fairly regular basis which is probably really close to you. I've been getting most of my meats at Sam's Club in Langhorne but a Costco is opening up right around the corner from my shop at Street Road and Jacksonville. Grand opening is Friday and I'm anxious to try their meats (I hear they're good).
