First time poster here!

My wife and I bought a MB xl40 propane smoker over the holidays and now that the deep freeze is over in PA, it's time to start smoking! I can't wait!

I've lurked on the forums for awhile now and I have gotten some great info. I have a cast iron skillet that I am going to use on top of the original tray. I'm am finally going to season the new smoker on Friday and I was wondering, should I use wood chips or chunks with the cast iron?? If I use chunks do I still need to soak them since they are bigger?

Thanks and stay warm!

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from a soggy and drying out day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.
