Newb here checking in hoping to become a pit master  just started to read threw the site randomly any suggestions for a noob?

i have a electric Brinkman 810-790s hoping to get the full potential have used it for pork shoulder 2x and ran in a stall at 170deg both times.

also would like to learn the method of barking just ordered a Maverick Industries ET-73 Maverick RediChek Remote Wireless Smoker Thermometer any tips on it would be appreciated.
