Ospho is a rust remover / inhibitor available at Ace Hardware and a few other stores.  It is in clear liquid, sold in plastic bottles and is green in color.  Brush it on, let sit overnight and your metal will be ready to repaint the next day.  It will turn your rusted metal black and at times there might be some white residue from the Ospho eating off rust.  Just wire brush this off before you paint.  I had tried several other ideas before Ospho and found it to work best.  Good stuff.

HI All,

I have parts of a smoker build i wanted to paint-- I found 2000 degree engine paint, (silver) for 1.99 a can at a closeout store called Ollies (theyre in ohio and michigan).  For some reason engine paint in general runs chaper than grill paint, per spray can... just my 3 cents.. unfortunately i haven't been able to test the paint yet.

:)

Flipping love that blue.  Building 2 smokers on an 18' trailer and just didn't want the ordinary black.  Thanks for the tip.  Stove black is a great paint also found at Lowes or your fireplace/stove store.  Cheap also but I like the Auto engine paint idea....awesome!!!
