That expression brings back memories.
I used to work for a Canadian headquartered company.
The only one we shared on the US side was Canada Day or the first weekend of August.

I forgot about Thanksgiving "long weekend"

Plus almost all of the rest of Canada is west of me , except Newfoundland and I consider them as part of the Maritimes, lol

Yes that's right, never liked the texture of any shell fish. Especially Lobster.

I picked Mona up some mussels and her brother gave her a Lobster , all I was getting was Hamburger and hot dogs
Mona holding a bun to show the size of her Lobster, I hate braggers ... lol

Thanks Bear, she loves her lobster, I steam/cooked for about 25 minutes
and it was not tough at all , so she told me , and my hotdogs and burger were great , ha ha

You are right on all counts
All the shell fish that comes into the house is all Mona's
The Mussels and Lobster was her supper and I had hotdogs and a burger .

Don't get me wrong I love hotdogs and burgers , but in comparison to her supper .
I should have had ...a fattie or big plate of chicken wings, just saying

Richie, sorry to hear you were not with family on the holiday. There were a lot I bet because of Covid that could not be with family.
I hope you get back to them soon. Your info says USA, are you working there and could not get back to Canada for Thanksgiving ?
