Best wishes to everyone here for the new year.  I was going to smoke a chicken to go with the traditional cabbage and black eyed peas.  The GF said that she wasn't a fan of my smoked chicken

.  My chicken has had too much smoke taste for her liking.  So we have an oven roasted chicken, smothered cabbage, and black eyed peas.

P.S.  I wasn't looking forward to firing up the WSM with temps in the 40's and rain.

Happy New Year to you, Mike. That meal looks really good. We had Collards, Black-eyed peas and grilled pork loin chops on the gas grill a reverse sear. Chops had an all purpose rub during the cook and a glaze of peach preserves and rub. Didn't want to fire up the smoker for 4 chops.

Your meal sounds great too Joe!  I love collards and loin chops.
