I was looking at this Kamado kettle at Costco and its $599.99 plus tax...well this morning I bought a used one at a Habitat for Humanity store for $275 taxes in.

One problem though...and Im hoping its either A- not a big deal or B- fixable

There are 2 chips on the back of the lid about an inch in diameter and about quarter inch deep ( shown in picture) it looks like it happened by someone opening the lid into the wall or something. Everything else seems fine with it.

Am I safe? I hope so...Is there something I can buy to fill in the chips?

Had one in the past, had the same thing happen. Use JB-Weld to fill in the chip and seal out moisture and dust. Clean the chip first before you fill it. Then use shallow applications (if necessary), layering until the patch is filled in.You can get matching paint from BGE's website.Good luck.

Looks like a great find. Those are great cookers
