A friend of mine’s birthday is today and he isn’t from here so won’t be able to be with family. He also volunteers with the youth ministry I work with too!
I said tell us what you want for dinner and we’ll do it!
Said he wanted ribs, so I got a couple racks of spare ribs.
Had them on since 12:45pm and plan to eat around 6pm with several friends.

J in twenty plus years this may be a topic of remembrance for you two. Good friend and the ribs look like their coming along nicely.

Point for sure.
Chris

Thanks for the point Chris.
Ribs are looking nice.
I am on daddy patrol and it’s chilly and very wet in my yard so staying inside and temps are going up and down a bit between 225-300. Hard to keep even temps when you can’t watch it like a hawk but the ribs will be great. I’m not worried. After you do something a bunch, you just kinda get the feel. Hard to know that when I first started.

Yes it was. Pulled the ribs at around 5hrs 30min and they were tender and juicy. Smoke ring almost met itself in the middle and perfectly pink and smoky flavored. Used my dry rub only, no sauce cause if you cook ribs right you don’t need sauce, at least IMHO.
We couldn’t stop eating them. Even my wife who is not crazy about ribs said they were really good.
Not bad for some $1.27/lb Spare ribs!
Thanks for watching.
