Saw this in our pantry under the cabinet overhang.
Looked kind of like laundry soap granules.
Only clue I have, making me think it is insect related, is there is a pecan under that pile.
One apparently escaped from a hand and ended on the floor.

Guessing, a beetle larvae bored into it and what you see is the dust or spoil that came out of their boring in.

I would think dust would be finer.

I can imagine you going full Rambo on the pantry killing anything on your warpath only to find out later that it was a simple spillage that was not cleaned up.
