We call em Maid Rites around here in Central Illinois. Others call em loose meat sandwich's. I thought I'd share my recipe for them. I know it ain't smoked but they are damn good!

2 lbs ground beef

1 cup chopped green bell pepper

1 cup chopped onion

4 cloves minced galic

1 tsp salt

1 tbl soul seasoning

1 16oz beer

Brown ground beef with 4 cloves garlic, 1 tsp salt, 1 tbl soul seasoning and 8 oz of beer.

Once browned (do not drain grease!) add 1 cup bell pepper, 1 cup onions, and remaining 8 oz of beer.

Simmer for 1 hour uncovered stirring occasionally.

Serve on hamburger buns.

Hope you enjoy!

Oh yes my friend!

And one other thing make sure you get a 85/15 ground beef. That gives it great flavor but doesn't make it so greasy it makes ur heart stop!
