That's the best and worst thing about living in the sticks, lol. I've gotten used to Kroger and Publix as the mains. We also have Aldi, Lidel just opened a new store here grand open is 4/20. Heard great things so we're gonna check it out. We also have Sam's and Costco, I prefer Sam's. Used to have Dixie, but they're gone. Trader Joe's not anywhere near me, Whole Foods too expensive. Let's not forget WalMart grocery, though not available in every market. There's still a few private owned Butcher shops here and there.

Walmart down here not much into grocery, real estate too expensive and too much food competition. We have a private old time butcher shop in town but I bet there is nothing under $25/lb in there but the meat is top notch. I have them custom grind 1/2 lb burgers from brisket/ribeye/chuck along with their own smoked bacon and that is really good.

Same here with local Butcher's pricing. I never thought of having them custom grind for burgers, sound like a plan. Wonder how much they'd charge for that? I hope less than $25/lb, lol. We're lucky that WalMart grocery exists here, only for the occasional times I can get thick Angus Steaks at good prices, when in stock. Sometimes they have very good produce, sometimes. Hit and miss.

I want to say $7.99/lb I did not think of it as ridiculous as the price of rib eyes in the counter were a lot more.
