Good afternoon,

My Davy Crockett hasn't worked since last February, but I bought it in January. I literally used it like 3 times. Has anyone attempted to return their GMG pellet smoker? According to GMG, they don't allow returns. I am taking it back to the dealer tomorrow to get "fixed", but I would rather just get my money back. I also find it weird that they don't allow returns. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Regardless, if they don't allow a return I plan to sell and buy a superior product.

I can’t give you any advice Derek because I have no experience with pellet smokers but I’m wondering what you plan on getting next?

I love my pitboss. They are releasing new pid models in January that look awesome. Also they have 5yr warranty for all parts. Had to replace my igniter after about 300 cooks and was a awesome experience with customer service. Had the part next day. They are built by Dansons. The same company that builds Louisiana grills.

Do you know what the issue with the Davy is?

It appears the ignitor. My biggest complaint is it stopped working after a month and they wouldn't let me return it. Instead, they wanted me to fix the issue even though it shouldn't have been my problem and the tutorials given contained incomplete steps (there's a YouTube video that also suggests this).

I have fixed stuff around my house when given complete directions, but this was just a mess since the directions were incomplete.

You do know you can manually light without an igniter rod right?

Sorry to hear that. I can understand your frustration.

Oh I dont disagree bud. Just didnt know if you knew that was an option. Igniter rod should be an easy fix if that's all that's wrong. Took me 15 min on my pitboss

I got you. Actually just realized that the other day after taking apart the grill. Now, I can't put it back together since the one set of bolts won't go in and I accidentally snapped the fan off while trying to fix it - another reason why I believe I shouldn't have had to fix it.

I literally just changed my heating element in my oven, which should be on the same level you would think.

I am having an issue with GMG also. Have a 6 year old DB and been having problems for the last 3 years. Dealer was no help except for selling me new parts that did not solve the problem. I am working with GMG customer service now and they are quick to respond, but keep running me around. I have tried no less then 6 different suggestions from them and still no smoker. I have $1000 invested with grill and parts and not happy. Any ideas on how I can get help from GMG. The issue started out as not holding temp, and now is all over the place. Last fix I was given, the grill would not go over 61 degrees.
