If you're speaking of gloves for food preparation, I use powder-free latex exam gloves...available in pharmacy departments or drug stores. I buy boxes of 50 pair, which last for several months.

For cooking I wear welder's gloves...available at some hardware stores/home centers, or welding supply outlets.

I wasn't sure about the latex gloves from the pharmacy as I have seen people wear black ones. I use these for my que'ing. I appreciate your prompt response sir. (Still going to make that pie one day soon with qview.

If you have a Smart and Final or a Costco near you - they have food handlers gloves and the welders gloves are great too

I use 'fireplace' gloves that I got from lowes on clearance. I'm guessing they are pretty similar to welders gloves.

Is that where the black gloves come from?

I am using silicon gloves. I saw a pair that Jeff used to take out a smoked ham & fell in love. (Not with Jeff but with the gloves.) I was very impressed. (Again, with the gloves.)

Oh no. The kind I am talking about I think, are the latex ones. Okay, I will break down & say, I was watching that show. You know the one. BBQ Pitmasters on TLC. Anyhoo, I saw Johnny Trigg's protégé, this young guy cooking out of Texas and his crew was wearing them. I don't know if anyone knows what I am talking about but I am definitely not talking about the ones you linked to. Thanks anyway.

Those are nice. I think I beat you on the price but having something to cover the wrists are nice. I don't have my hands in the smoker long enough to feel the effect, eventhough I do have hair on my wrists. Ouch!

They aren't cheap but it sure is nice to not burn my hands when I want to move stuff around in the smoker. They clean up well so I don't figure I'll be buying to many pairs of them

My wife is a nurse so I get alot of the gloves from her work. I like them specially when making sausage because everything is so cold and slippery too. Now I do have a heavy duty set out by the smoker too.

Black Nitrile gloves. Latex like but much stronger. Good touch, too. I get mine at Harbor Freight. Normally they are $10 for a hundred but sometimes on sale for $5 per box.

I got some nitrile for handling raw stuff, and I DID have a nice set of Ove Gloves w. silicone dots for working inside my smoker. That was UNTIL my Yellow Lab found them on the counter & figured they smelled good, how about a good chew on 'em?? They were a Nomex/kevlar blend too. One of the best things my Mother in Law ever gave me for Christmas...Dang dog!!

Ya know Jeff, you do have nice looking shoulders & all but I am kind of in love with the wifey. I hope you can understand.

I don't ever mean to mislead anyone.

But I did like the ones you were using. Thank you for taking the time to respond to my post.

Thank you. These are exactly the kind I am talking about.

You know, I have a pair (when I say pair, I mean that I bought two as they only come one to a box) of these & maybe my quality was not as good as yours, because I promise you, everytime I grabbed ahold of anything I was grilling or smoking, if I held onto it too long, there was heat transference & I had to hurry up & take them off. And once I washed them, that was it. Never the same again.

Myron uses the thin black, latex gloves also. I'm looking for some too! Maybe I'll ask Myron where he got his. Knowing him he prolly has his mane on them!! Ha!
