So my oldest son went on a vacation with his girlfriend and her family to South Carolina. So we had custody of our grandson for the week(black lab/pony)
So they made it back and came to pick up the dog and brought some fresh gator meat and shrimp from the coast. Everyone wanted them deep fried, so I went to work on that and thawed out a small bag of walleye to go with! Went well with some reheated ribs in the air fryer and the wife's corn salad! Just wish we had more!

LOL, Its from a movie, which spurred the thread title.

Use to know a guy......it was $8-10k to shoot a gator. You were basically the trigger man for a gator on a line. You did get a pair of alligator boots and a belt out of the deal though.....
Wow! I no idea it was anywhere near that much! Some boots would be cool though........

The price is a function of how they distribute the gator tags. State issues tags to the landowners. Gator trapper buys them from the landowner or the landowner gives them to the trapper as part of the lease arrangement. If you are a Joe Blow on the street, you can't get a tag from the state unless you put in for one of the lotteries on state land. Since the swamp people series, there are a whole lot of people across the U.S. that think it would be cool to shoot a gator and that is dictating the price. And people want BIG gators....which also drives up the price.

Plan B. So what is the fine if you get caught poaching a gator? Asking for a friend?.......
