Well I finally got my trade done for the propane stove, to do a oven smoker. Turned out to be a Stainless Steel Maytag unit with 5 burners and a self cleaning oven. It has to be really cleaned up especially the stove top, this is where the SMF folks come in with their vast knowledge of all things. Its not wet greasy, its baked on. The only thing that moves it is a sharp chisel.  Can anyone help?

Try Barkeepers Friend with a Mr. Clean Eraser.  That usually takes care of burned on stuff for me.  It may need to soak for a while to loosen things up.

Thanks jfrank, the Mr. Clean stuff is easy to come by but I'll have to use something else than Barkeepers Friend. not in this area. Let you know how things work out.
