Been a while since we have had a fish fry due to some health problems that kept me down for a while. Yesterday, my brother called to invite me and my grandson to go fishing. We jumped at the chance. My grandson loves fishing even more than I did at 11. We weren't out too long due to the heat, but we got a nice mix of crappie, perch, and bluegill. Lincon out fished me and his uncle and took great pleasure in rubbing it in.
He got to fillet his first few fish with the electric knife. He did great. Italian seasoned bread crumbs after a flour dusting and egg wash. They were great.

Strong work!! I could eat every yellow perch on the planet. I grew up scarfing them at AYCE fish fries!

Great looking meal! And great that the grandson loves to fish!

My 3 favorite fish to fry up and snack on. Ok honestly I like almost any species that I can catch up here in ND depending on time of year, only fishing I seem to get to do anymore is ice fishing so almost anything through the ice is better table fare in my opinion like northern pike and largemouth bass, got a few reservoirs I fish that have good populations of bass so I will take a few smaller ones from time to time. I have started slitting the gills of everything I catch the last few years and it sure seems to help, especially bass and pike.

Thanks for all the likes and comments everyone. We had a ball, both catching and eating. The smiles on the kid's faces when they catch a fish big or small are genuine.

Thats looks like a great time, the perch down here rarely get big enough to filet and I don't like picking around bones, missed good fishing season this year due to shoulder surgery but will makeup for it next spring. Spend as much time as you can with the grand kids, they grow up quickly.

Yellow perch are popular up here, in the winter time a few of the mom-n-pop stores buy them up from the ice fisherman and resell to those of us who don't want to sit hovering a few holes in the ice.

Nice catch, dinner and even better memories.

Point for sure
