I watched the movie "Food Inc." last night and was very impressed. It is a very informative documentary on the way food today is controlled, grown and the impact the current methods have on us.

It made me rethink what I buy for my family. I'm going organic when possible.

Has anyone else seen it?

My Parents want me and my Brother to go over and watch it with them, Mom claims it will make me not want to eat meat-That will be the day...
Nothing wrong with organic though, I try to be as green as i can and every year the Family garden is organic as well.

I saw it in theaters and my folks bought me a copy for christmas. It has been awhile since I have seen it, but I remember it being pretty disturbing. Its sad to see so many family farms being put out of business by large corporations who get 90% of the farm subsidies. I did some research during college about the unethical practices of these large agribusinesses and meat distribution companies. Monsanto genetically modifies seeds and then requires that farmers buy them from them every year, rather than just using their own year after year. When the seeds spill over onto someone elses farmland, Monsanto sues them for illegally growing their crops. Most farmers I know don't have the financial resources to fight these lawsuits in court. I buy local produce every chance I get and its usually cheaper. I am guilty of buying meat at costco (just too damn cheap not too), though I rarely eat fast food.
