As the title says, I'm in Flagstaff, AZ. I am a complete newbie when it comes to smoking. My wonderful wife gave me a MES 40 electric smoker for Christmas. So far, I've smoked a pre-cooked ham which turned out wonderfully tender with a great smoke flavor. I also smoked some grocery store sliced bacon which also turned out really well.
One thing I've noticed about having the smoker is that it reminds me of the old saying: When the only tool you have is a hammer...everything around you starts looking like a nail. I'm pretty excited to smoke...well...everything. My kid has turned her nose up at the idea of smoked Cheerios though.
While aspiring to become proficient with the smoker, I hold down a day job as an I.T. consultant. Our clients are almost exclusively commercial...medical offices, law offices, accounting firms, etc. For entertainment, I love throwing darts and online gaming. I mostly play Star Wars: The Old Republic which is how I was introduced to this forum. A couple of the guys I play SWTOR with are avid smokers and suggested that I check this place out.
