Brushed em with soy sauce, then applied the rub yesterday. Smoked em 3 hours with cherry wood @235. Pulled em, wrapped em in foil pans with some beer, a splash of apple vinegar and some apple and onion slices. Stuck em back in the smoker and left for my boys football game. Boys kicked ass btw!
Came back and they were fall off the bone good!

Looks good! CONGRATS! I would do them instead of pork if they were less expensive. I paid $5/lb and bought them immediately since I NEVER see them. I can get pork less than $2 anytime.

Just did some for the first time. SPG rub over oak no wrap pulled 205F. Family said "don't change anything"!

Buckeyedude Thanks for the like it is greatly appreciated.

Was in butcher shop the other day picking up some pulled pork for an event and the butcher was boning out a prime rib and I said what you going to do smoke them? He said he never had much luck smoking them and said here you try and gave me the whole rack of ribs. So I guess I'm going to try them soon.

Nice! Mine were gifted as well. Some friends of ours had a bunch of steers get out and literally run amuck. Took two weeks to track em all down. Ended up having to shoot a few. So they were butchering them and I asked them to set some aside for me.

Woulda wrapped in that situation too. Main point I was driving at was that these are easy to make. Membrane was kinda PITA to remove but that was about it. Next rib roast I get will definitely be bone in and will do it like Bears and leave little extra on them. Aaron Franklin puts hot sauce on his...

Before I forget, keep the bones for soup season. For giggles I added one to a can of plain ole green beans... WOW. Daughter asked for 2nds of GREEN BEANS?! LOL
