i first had this - http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/s...9705&SST=6a44f9b0-60d7-eea8-9b94-00004e69031e

then i had this - http://www.best-deal.com/product/br...-charcoal-all-in-one-grill-smoker/20805533/1/

first two smokers were a waste of time, but i learned the basics

now i have this - http://www.weber.com/explore/grills/smokers-series/smokey-mountain-cooker-18

did a first smoke today, venison sirloin, used this marinade for the most part, only marinaded over night though - http://www.wvtrophyhunters.com/smoked_venison.htm

went great, only did about 3-4 lbs of meat so it went in just under 3 hours, tried to stay around 200, took off at 160, tasted great

used hickory for smoke

One thing I've learned over the years is that when it comes to grills, etc. you can't beat a Weber. They're the best. Period.

Perhaps it's just my view.
