Well on saturday I caught my first salmon of the year.  It wasn't huge (28" 10 lbs) but it fought well and was a bright orange inside as I could hope.  gonna bake that one but some will be diverted to the smoker as the catch goes up.  one thing we learned is california rolls with the smoked salmon, cream cheese and shallots or green onion..... gotta love the salmon season!!!!

I still miss living in Alaska.  The salmon was perfect and you had enough to last the year - along with halibut, moose, elk, bear, etc....

Fresh caught salmon is out of this world!

I over-did it last fall and this spring - have way too much salmon and brown trout in the freezer. Going to smoke some every weekend and give to friends until it's gone. I guess that is a good kind of problem to have.
