I have my first attempt at a brisket today. I went with a McCormick rub and threw a pan under it with some broth, carrots, celery, and onions. I have a 9.5 lb in the smoker since 6am. I'm at my plateau so I pulled the pan to see if it'll bump a little.

My question is, for the folks who do the pan for an au jus, what do you do with the veggies from the pan? They look way too good to toss.

Answered my own question. Took a bite of a carrot.

Gross.

LOL well there is nothing like answering your own question

They just looked and smelled great. The au jus smells outstanding and I figured hey I should through tese in and maybe brown them up.
