First Boston Butt

    Good morning everyone
    I am 7 hrs into a 7 lb butt. I have been using Pecan since the start, I read somewhere that to much Pecan can make the meat to sweet. I have being thinking about switching to Hickory to finish it. I am at 145 degrees long way to go yet. Is it ok to stick with Pecan or should I switch to Hickory and or Black Cherry. Any advice would be appreciated

    I've smoked straight through with just pecan and had no problems. My go to smoke is a mix of cherry and pecan 50/50.

    Thanks for the info I hit the stall is it normal for the temp to drop a little
