Firehouse got a new Toy!

Went to watch LSU play TENN in the college baseball Championship playoff game at the firehouse tonight. Cousin told me, "Hey, go check out what is on the counter in the PSC kitchen."

"O.K." I said...

A double Fryer. So awesome! That thing will get plenty of use! Buddy from KAnsas is bring me 4 gallons of white bass and Cold water crappie when he comes down next month. Will be eating some fried fish meals for sure!! Can't wait to do real double fried french fries!!!

That is one great addition Keith… and sounds like some good fish fries in the near future! Just make sure the tater fries are ID russets… just sayin!

Very nice fryer!!!! I would add tempura bananas to the list…..Oh and here is the craziest thing to try. Good old Grands Cinnabon rolls out of the can, slice them 1/2 inch thick and fry @ 350 for about 4 min (2 each side) then put some buttermilk icing on them……crazy easy but out of this world!!!!

First fry is at lower temp, usually 350 to cook them and then second fry is it 375 to crisp the outside. best way to do them

"Double fried" is the original French way to make French fries.

325*F, then 375*F....this allows the potatoes to cook all the way through without burning them, then fry again to get them crispy...
