Let me see if I can translate this:

"Can I use 1"x1" box tubing to build a FB frame, and then line the inside with 3/16" metal on the inside and outside... leaving a 1" gap between the plates that I'll insulate?"

That about right?

The thicker the better for a FB. I've never built a smoker but I've done a ton of homebrew wood stoves. Sure you can use 1" box for the frame, that would be kinda cool. Only thing I'd suggest is instead of using 7ga inside and outside, if you can weld it, try using something like 0ga or 1 ga (5/16 or 9/32) on the inside lining, probably at least 3ga (1/4") and then you can probably use something thinner like 7ga or 9ga on the outside (7=3/16 and 9=5/32). You also probably want to use kaowool or ceramic kiln insulation as a liner between the layers. Not sure that even stuff like Roxul Safe-45 will hold up long-term as FB insulation. I'm using Roxul Safe-45 for my CC insulation but kaowool for my FB and anything close to it.

I think buckhunter88 was just asking if those materials could be used to build a FB, which should be a simple yes/no answer. Unless I'm missing something?
