I know oak, cherry and apple are fairly readily available here, but I am in the fox valley, and would like to know where I can get Mesquite logs, if at all, or what other woods are good to use.   and in an UDS, how to use chips as a substitute for logs.

i live over by wausau,  i know you can order any type of wood off of the internet. i use pecan mostly and i buy the chunks at Gander Mtn
