After the whole Gander Mountain debacle I made a trip to bass pro last night & bought an lem #8 model grinder!! Also got some kits for summer sausage, snack sticks, & brauts so looks like i"ll be grinding some meat this weekend!!!

I drove right past GANDER to Fleet Farm to get my grinder.

Wish we had a Bass Pro up here in Minnesota!

Well the Gander is about 2 miles from me s I own a gander grinder and stuffer. I also bought a handful of kits. You will have casings forever. I bought 2 kits right (for 25lbs of sausage) of the bat and then the amount of casings you get I have amde almost 60 lbs of sausage and I still casings left.

That's good to know not sure what i'm going to do 1st probably some snack sticks!! I do know i'll be grinding something this weekend!!

Congrats on the new grinder and other goodies too. You'll be into some more fun real soon.

I really like Cabela's, but it's a 40 minute drive to get there.

I'll most likely shop GANDER again, after I calm down from their most recent screw up!

Gander has a "PS Willies Snack Stick Kit", that's got seasonings, casings and cure for $20. They are doing a 20% off equipment and seasonings deal thru 1/31, and it gets down to $18 complete. I made this kit last week, and it really is good. I broke down the mix into (5) bags, so I could do 5# batches, and used (1) level teaspoon of cure per batch.

If you split it up, make sure you dump all the seasonings into a bowl and mix it all up before you make smaller batches. If you don't mix it all up, you can end up with one or two batches that have way too much salt and others will have too much spice.

You can add extra "Crushed Red Pepper" or "Cayenne Pepper" to one of the mixes and end up with a hotter stick. You could add "Cracked Pepper" to a mix and end up with a "Cracked pepper Stick"

(1) kit could really end up with (5) different flavors if you're creative.

Lol very true and funny you said that cause a bud of mine said i was obsessed with sausage haha that doesn't sound good any way you slice it haha
Nice grinder you will be grinding like a madman for awhile.

Glad this is working out for you, and you are getting on your way to the sausagiers. I had a bad experience with Cabelas once. Never really got satisfaction. I think it was an isolated experience, and I have since gotten over it. I did get a lot of stuff from Bass Pro for awhile though. It's all mail order to me, so the customer service has to be right.
