I got a piece of 30"×1/2 wall a while back and am about to start putting it together.

However I am wanting a vertical warming box. Hadn't planned on doing a reverse flow. Have a few questions though.
1. How much over sized fire box is ideal for a large smoker?
2. Since it will have a vertical warming box do I found the night of the warming box as all exhaust or?????
3. Any advice for cutting the doors and them not distorting. The pipe is rolled and welded.
