Picked up a jar of fig preserves and decided to make some sauce with it. Chipotle sounded like a good way to go so I took an old recipe from another sauce I did and just subbed in the figs and adobo chipotles and minor tweaks. Came out quite nice, sticky and not too sweet with just a touch of heat. Next go round I'm going to up the chipotle content as I like sweet heat. kilo charlie kilo charlie like I said, I'd keep ya posted. With a little more heat the recipe is a keeper. Used the pickapeppa hot mango as a binder. Man I love that stuff. Used a mix of blues hog original and killer hogs. About an hour at high smoke which is 220 I think, the run it up to 265 till they're done. Sauced them up for about the last 30 minutes.

Same farm stand has killer pies, so dessert was that and some vanilla bean Ice cream.

What sucks is the farm stand shuts down right before Thanksgiving, so I go on a forced pie diet until spring hits.

Thanks for looking and happy Monday!

That is a beautiful rack of ribs. Who doesn't like pie!!!!

Thank you, and yes... who doesn't? Probably the psycho people who can fold a fitted sheet with their eyes closed.

good looking meal!
Jim

Thank you!

Nice cook . I bet that sauce is awesome .

Thank you! Sauce is a work in progress but man it has some eye appeal! I suck at taking pics but you know the old saw about broken clocks? That's me!

Man that all looks amazing! I bet that sauce was tasty!

Thank you. Like I said above, workin' it. I put molasses in more for color, but it mighta been the extra sweet that killed the heat.

Nice ribs and meal!
Thank you!

I wonder if you made the Cherry Chipotle recipe with the figs and added more Chipotle Peppers if that would satisfy your desired heat level?

I'll give it a shot next go round. The preserves were quite sweet, and like I said the molasses didn't help. I'll post the recipe as made.
