Is all Fennel about the same when it comes to sausage? I want to order in bulk and there's quite a few options with a wide range of prices...
 
I buy whole fennel seed at Gordon's food service . Trade east is the brand .
I wouldn't get to crazy on price . I pay around 15 bucks for a 14 oz bottle .
If you're on a spice site , maybe grab some anise too .

This would work and be easy if you have an Amazon account .

Just for FYI , I always crack some of the seeds , then leave some whole .
 
I like to toast fennel and anise seeds in a pie plate for a few minutes under the broiler, breaks out the flavor when you grind them. Better to buy fresh Charles, they lose a little potency when they sit on the shelf too long. RAY
