Hey everyone,

One of our members here sent me a message about a family that is close to him. They have been friends/family for a long time and its like a brother to him.

On to the need. There is a 5yo boy named Manny that is at St Jude with Cancer. The most recent report came back and it wasn't what they had hoped for and not looking good at this time. Manny's mom has quit her job to be at St Jude with him and as you can imagine this has caused a hardship.

The family doesn't know that we are going to try to raise some funds to help them so whatever you could give will be a total surprise and huge blessing to them.

If you are able to help out in any way then please send me a PM and ill get you details of where and how to send.

Thank you all for all the things you do to help people.

I can be at St Jude in 20 minutes.....If there is anything I can do for either of these families let me know. Even if its just a bag of snacks or a home cooked meal I can make it happen. Hell, just a hug from a old fat guy. Been a nurse for 30+ years and Peds is something I have never been able to do. It just tears my heart to see kids suffer.

Brian, we live in the poorest county in Florida. There are so many people that need just basic supplies. There are many homeless camps here in Highlands county & they are all supported by the residents of the county that can give, not much goverment help. We have food drives & a lot of events that all the proceeds go to the homeless. Thank God that the weather here is warm enough to live outside, but the problem now is, it’s so hot they need tents, water, etc. It is a very sad situation!

Hey all, it was me that reached out to Brian… This thread is on behalf of my good friend/brother Clay. The above that Brian explained is about Clay’s Niece Lexi and Great Nephew Manny!

They are just in some need right now with Lexi having to quit her job to be with him!

If you all can spare some financially… would make a huge difference to them!

If you can’t financially and could just pray for them… would be great!

Maybe supporters get a finger painting from Manny as a thank you! That’s some original art!

Appreciate all the support so far and any future help!

100% of proceeds go to Lexi and Manny!

Appreciate you all…

It's not all about monetary donations. If any of you have kids or grandkids that want to draw or color pics we can forward them to Manny.
Also, if you want to donate, you can also pm myself, or JLeonard JLeonard or Rafter H BBQ Rafter H BBQ
We can all get you the same info as bmudd14474 bmudd14474 is busy

Al,

That is a great point. Are there any food banks or organizations there that we could post about if anyone wants to donate to them as well?

I know times are tough everyone but even something as small as a case of water for $4 can make a world of difference to someone in need.

We have weekly food drives and various events throughout the year that all the proceeds go to the kids or the homeless. There are many children here that the only meal they get is at school. They are in the process of setting up a homeless camp WITH, running water & restrooms. The county is covering the cost. The rest is up to the residents of Highlands county, and the one’s who can afford it have been very generous. My little community has raised over $100,000 for Highlands county charities. These days with everyone pretty much feeling a bit pinched, you have to choose your causes. Thank you for what you are doing!
