elec masterbuilt smoker

hi everyone, need help someone on craiglist is selling a masterbuilt smoker 6 months old for $65 he say the last number on digital temp gauge  is brunt out should i still buy it, thanks for any help.

I believe that the control box can be replaced for under $75.00

If it turns on and heats up, I would grab it.

It may be under warranty, I would call Masterbuilt. You don't have to tell them you bought it used.
