“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat….” Mathew 25 vs 35.

Our area had been hit with a lot of rain and flooding with numerous people evacuate from campground facilities, their residences due to levees breaking etc. The Wife and I were home today and it was really nice weather. I saw an add at the chef store for 20 pounds of zucchini for $9 so drove 50 miles at 7 am and got 80 pounds . Also got 68 pounds of Tri tip and 12 pounds of beans (canned)

We made contact with the local food pantry and see if we could help feed people that were residentially challenged today and possibly give hope to those with little. The lady in charge was overwhelmed. She began crying. She said today was the 1st Easter they did not have food to feed the needy and our call was an answer to her prayers.
I added 2 extra racks to Big Jake and filled him up. Ole Jake didn’t miss a beat. The roof was amazing as the sun was bright today. We truly enjoyed ourselves.

The wife and I really received the biggest blessing by being able to help. The smiles when they tasted the food were so worth it. The volunteer workers said the meat was amazing. I just wish we could have done more.
Edit. Forgot to add we bought 100 food service containers and utensils sets with the salt pepper etc so food could be taken to the elderly also. The pantry really appreciated that. Anyway the food was delivered at 415 PM. I was shooting for 4pm.

Here are some pics. Hope you all had a blessed Easter.

Awesome random act of kindness by you and your wife. Blessings to you both and to those who enjoyed the meal. Everything looks delicious! It is definitely more enjoyable to give than receive. It’s refreshing to see good stuff like this. The world needs more people like you and your wife.

That sir is truly living in a Christly way.

Acts 20:35 “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work, we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”

Bless you sir.

Jim

Thank you. Blessings to you and yours as well.

Easter is full of mysteries. There is no mystery to the kindness you and your wife have shown to your neighbors. This was an Easter that will not be forgotten.
Agreed. It was nice to be able to help.
