Evening everyone!! So I’m looking to get back into the offset game. I am looking to stay charcoal/wood offset, not really pellets at this time. Although with all that amazing smoked cheese people keep posting I may need to invest in an AMNPS... anywho...

So I was looking at some different stores for smokers, Lowes, HD, a local hardware store, but couldn’t really find anything to my liking. I then checked out Tractor Supply Co., and found what I think are some decent looking rigs without breaking the bank. Also I’m sure people have done some mods to upgrade them further, high temp sealant, additional therms, lid gasket, etc...

Here is the first option

And here is the second option

If anyone here has any experience with either of these options, please let me know! Or if anyone has any additional tips besides the ones I noted earlier, don’t hesitate to drop those in my ear..

Thanks and looking forward to everyone’s responses and guidance!

I smoked on a Brinkmann for years (which is pretty close to a Dyna-Glo).

They are good for what they are. Plan on spending time babysitting it as they are prone to temperature swings.

I found using lump charcoal to start and then small oak splits helped keep the temp more stable.

Both made in China with very thin steel, 1.5mm. Okie Joe better built, not much of a price difference. RAY
