I finally got around to starting my uds build. I have a new unlined barrel. I got all my holes drilled and I built a fire in it and let it burn for several hours. There is still some paint on the outside of the barrel that I plan on removing most I can. My question is do I need to do anything further to the inside? I dumped the ashes and rinsed it out. The inside is black from the fire. Can I coat the inside with oil and do a seasoning burn or do I need to clean the inside so it's shiny again? Is there anything that I'm missing? Any tips or pointers appreciated. Thanks!

After all that heat, what ever is left inside should be ready for an oil bake to seal the drum....
