Well David
You are entertaining to say the least. You know what's in store.

Copper Mountain. Things can go wrong real fast. 4 years ago a guy fell on me getting off the lift and broke my fibula.
Last place I skied in Colorado.
Oh no! Good luck on a speedy recovery.
I tore up my knee at A-Basin 20 years ago and got to take a ride behind the Ski Patrol sled. Sadly I did not even have my skis on, I was getting ready to lock in when a guy came in out of control and used me as a method to stop....

Hand and rib is on me, but knee damage got started by another skier.
He was down about mid hill for some time. I stopped to ask if I should get ski patrol.
Said just knocked the wind and moved then slid onto my skis and we both went for a wild ride until I managed to trip a binding and got a speed brake in the snow.

It happened again, snowboarding accident and a broken tibia and fibula. Surgery next week to reconstruct. Got a ride in the ski patrol sled and and ambulance. So life just hit the brakes, cant put any weight on it for the foreseeable future, it 2 months of couchin it. Good thing I have a Kindle. BLEH. here are some pics for entertainment.

Damn David. That sucks to hear. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
A good friend of mine broke his back last year mountain biking. He said that when you ride like lightning. Sooner or later you'll crash like thunder. He is never going to walk again. But he has a amazing attitude and hopefully he'll back working where I work again as a scheduler for the maintenance dept.

Man that’s rough but he has a good attitude for sure. Trying not to complain but discuss.

Sadly the ER doc only gave me 20 hydrocodone to last me 5.5 days and now they be all weird about getting me more. I mean I’ve broke a lotta bones and hands down this has been the most painful. So now I get to see them in person so they can assess if I’m a junkie or not. At least that’s how I see it. I get it…kinda but what do they think is going to happen postoperative….duh more pain meds.

Many thanks. Skied from 7-20 yrs. Snowboarded 20-57. Never a problem till 4 years ago.

David very sorry to hear that and I hope and pray you have a great recovery. Broke my tib/fib about 20 years ago. Broke it low as well and that recovery sucked because it was so low he didn't want me on it at all for quite awhile and use a walker after that. Sure wasn't any fun I still have the rod and screws in. Problem with the hydrocodone is it used to be 1 or 2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed now they want to write it 1 tablet every 6-8 hours as needed that is for the 10 mg pills. What they have done for pain management drugs is beyond stupid anymore and many places not prescribing any. If you want to talk about that stuff PM me it's crazy. They sure are taking their time getting you to surgery and that sucks as well. Best of luck I hope it eases up some for you. I still have the metal strapping and over 50 screws holding my ribs together as well. I tell them not to get a magnet to close to me lol

You know this well. It’s just like you said it. I did the same break years ago…not looking forward to the slow recovery again. And yes I see the surgeon Tuesday. Then we schedule. It sucks for sure. My biggest goal is to get the surgery done asap. Then figure the next and the next. As you well know

Wow, sorry to hear about your incident. Hope you get a complete recovery.
Shooting Pool is a much safer hobby 🍻

David that seriously sucks. Hoping for a good and fast recovery. Think someone might just pull the smoker close enough to the door to reach out and operate it??? Wishful thinking I'm sure.
Great idea, but when this happened the first time years ago sitting up was a couple weeks out and standing was like around week6-8. Weight bearing was even later. Hoping it will be better but planning for s**t.

Many thanks man!

Neighbor friend had ankle surgery a few weeks ago. He is non weight bearing for 3 months.
I fear that. I am quite confident theirs gonna be a plate and several screws installed in both bones.

Man that Sucks. Hope you get healed up right and can find a less hazardous hobby.

Things like this almost make me glad I'm already infirm to not do some activities even if I wanted to.

Hopefully you can find a way to keep on with the smoking while you heal.

Man you cant catch a break David or I guess you can:emoji_disappointed: So sorry buddy.
Thanks Brian. Life/the world/god are sending a message. time to slow down. I have no choice but to slow now. Im trying hard to stay positive and not be whiny/complainy. My wife is taking a big hit because I cant do anything. I feel more sorry for her than myself. But we have both been the caregiver for the other over our long relationship. Its a stressor, but we made it through all of them so far.

Thanks brother!
