So I am doing two packets this weekend on two WSM one rubbed with SPG and the other with SPG and Butchers injcection. Will will see which one is better
I injected a packer once with a flavored butchers injection and while the brisket came out fine, tender, and juicy, it tasted like a pot roast. It wasn't particularly bad, but I personally liked the SPG non-injected versions better (mesquite smoked is my fave as well).
