Hey guys, I just smoked my first piece of meat (pork loin). I wanted to see if this looks right. It was 15 degrees for a high today and I had a heck of a time trying to keep my smoker warm, so I ended up wrapping the entire top portion of the smoker in aluminum foil (cheap Brinkman charcoal one) I got frustrated with it as it seemed my charcoal got burned out very quickly and I could still comfortably lay my hand on the lid of the smoker. I ended up running to the store and grabbing a bag of Hardwood charcoal chunks, and that seemed to keep the heat up higher.
Meat was probed in the middle and cooked to 149°. Does it look like I did OK?

Thank you very much I was worried to death that it wouldn't turn out right, but I sliced it up and everyone including my 3 kids hammered it.

Honestly, that is one of the best looking loins I have seen on here!

Nice smoke ring & very juicy looking!

Very well done!!!

Al

Thank you very much, it was very tender and juicy. I had to convince my wife that the smoke ring wasn't uncooked meat though lol
