I wouldn’t call it a topping per se but good Mac and cheese in a bowl mixed with Chile is a thing for us it’s delicious.

Growing up I used to eat peanut butter spread on bologna rolled up for a protein snack and believe or not it is delicious, sweet and salty it works very well. Never did it with dogs but basically the same thing. Seriously try it.
Both of those sound worth a try for me. I always remember all the weird crap we did as kids, it's great to hear the other side lol 😆

I forgot about pasta with chili, probably because for a while pasta was a no-go due to low carbing. I do remember a recipe for Cincinnati chili in a book we have , I think it used elbow macaroni. Amping that up to mac and cheese with chili IS probably really good too.

Still having a hard time wrapping my head around anything peanut butter and chili and the cinnamon roll though. But multiple comments about both here takes me from a "hayell no", to "trying it once wont kill me"!

Interesting that I think I'm the only one to mention chili with potato. Chili over top of a baked potato is even something I've seen in restaurants on loaded potato menu options.

Used to get it at Arby's here , Biggest baked tater I've ever seen .

Hodges chili parlor used to sell what they called a slinger . Chili , 2 burgers patties , hash browns and over easy eggs . They've since closed , but you can still get a Slinger at other places .
I'm sure other parts of the country have something similar .

It is . On the plate and in the bottom of the bowl . I'm gonna need to make some chili .

Whoa! Masa harina pancakes! That sounds good.

Well that sounds down right delicious
It's good . You can find recipes for using all masa , but I use a box pancake mix and follow the directions , but go 50 / 50 mix and masa . Keeps it simple .

Masa harina is also a great thickener for chili if you like the corn flavor .

Some places serve peanut butter cheese burgers
There is an old bar/ burger/ steak joint out on the river here called Al The Whop's, they have a jar of peanut butter on every table. You'd be surprised at what some of the people have put it on.

As a kid, I used to but P.B on my BLT's, still do from time to time.

That's cool. Is there a backstory on it?

We mix it up quite a bit. With Venison chili I serve with a couple lime wedges (I also use orange and lime juice when making it) the lime and citrus work well with the venison flavor. Otherwise we mix it up, but these are our staples:
Greek Yogurt
Green Onions
Avocado
Mexican cheese
French's Fried Onions
Crushed Fritos

I just pulled a partial can of the fried onions from the pantry I noticed need to be used up somehow. Never thought of a chili topper!

I've got to try egg on chili!!
Seems like people will put an egg on just about anything! Crosses over cuisines to, Asian, Latino...

For some reason I'm in a breakfast box with eggs. I can eat them as a topper over something if I'm out to eat somewhere and that's how the dish I ordered is built, but dont really want them as a lunch or dinner item/ingredient unless its eggs Benedict for brunch, or for some reason scrambled eggs for dinner when I'm sick.

Ain't ever done that, but did have peanut butter on a hotdog once. In my teens, me and a friend partook of some weed, got the munchies, and decided we wanted hotdogs. There was no mustard in his parent's fridge, and we already had the hotdogs cooking so we were committed to eating them.

He went rummaging through the cabinets in search of an unopened jar of mustard and finally comes back with a jar of peanut butter, saying, "Well, its the same color, so lets try it " It really wasn't as bad as it sounds, but never did it again lol.

I'm really not sure, but I'm completely sure alcohol was involved, the place is a dance on the bar and tables drunk fest at times. I love going there, the eye candy is amazing at times, but the drive on elevated river roads is not cohesive with heavy drinking. Furthermore, I've had two friends die on those river roads, so it's a big no with me.
