So i made my usual fall chili yesterday. 3.5lbs of smoked brisket chunks, 6lbs ground beef, beef stock, sautéed onions in smoked beef tallow, beans (per the wife for this yrs chili), crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, chili powder/salt/pepper/garlic/cayenne, 1/3rd cup brown sugar.

Cooked down for 5hrs

I think this yielded me 7 gallons.

All portioned in zip lock baggies and in the deep freezer.

LOTS of easy "warm you up meals" for the winter.

Pics were taken before it all cooked down.

Looks great. I just did a huge batch that I ate for the week and shared a bunch with friends and family. I did manage to put a few quarts up in freezer. I love getting my soups out for a quick meal when I don't feel like cooking.

Awesome looking pot of chili! We just had some Sunday night from the freezer... lows of 28 degrees... tasted great!

Looks good! Dropping into the 30s here tonight. Need to start thinking about chili. I do have a couple of vac-seal bags of brisket in the deep freeze.

I try and stock my freezer up with brisket only when it's on sale. I'll grab as many as I can (up to 5). Last time I found it for 1.99/lb. I cut 2 of them up for pot roasts. Way cheaper than 8.99/lb for Chuck roast.

Nicely done Warren. That chili would hit the spot with the colder weather making it's way up here.

Point for sure
