It's a silly question, but I have a new rib rack and want to use it next week.  Do I first need to season it like I did my smoker and grates, or can I just go for it?

Personally I run all things thru a good washdown or in the dishwasher if it's stainless.  You don't know who's been handling it or breathed cold germs or flu germs or whatever terrible thing you can conjure up.

Oh, by the way, in this neighborhood, there's no such thing as a silly question.  If you don't know, ya gotta ask.  Someone will have an answer or an opinion or something.  Oh wait, you're in Portland.  Well OK, I guess I'll have to give you a BIG NW welcome to our little corner of the smoking world.
