Did you sell your gasser after buying a pellet grill?

I have a Weber genesis and a Rec Tec RT 700 (new within the last month).

I am curious to see if you guys found the gasser was no longer needed and sold them off. Please chime in!

I have a hard time letting go of any of my toys. They all do at least one thing that the others cannot. My wife says I have issues and I cannot disagree.

Nope - I still have my Weber Spirit, along with my Traeger. As mentioned above, no sense in getting rid of toys :)

In all seriousness, I think a gasser still serves a purpose. When we want some quick and easy burgers, or looking for hot sear on a steak, the Weber still does the job.

If you can keep it, I don’t see why you would get rid of it.

I have never owned a gasser but I have no plans to sell my Kamado Joe, just because I got my Timberline.

I don’t have an actual pellet grill but I do have 2 mes 40’s, 2 charbroil barrel smokers, 2 weber Genesis gas grills, 2 weber kettles, and 1 weber Smokey mountain.

This collection of outdoor cookers should give you an idea of how I feel about having too much stuff. I’m not getting rid of anything until it’s broke. lol.

My wife is gonna be happy when I’m gone and she can sell my smoking equipment, and duck hunting gear cause she’ll be able to retire! Lol!

I got the wsm this past summer to try something new. Been using the other smokers so long I started to get bored. Wanted a new challenge. I bought an 18” wsm new. The last few months or so I’ve been looking for a 22” wsm on Craigslist. I’ll pair the first one up soon enough! Lol.

No way,keep your equipment as 1 cant do the job for all,you might get by if only needing a couple of items done but when you need a bunch done a grill is hard to beat

I kept the Weber Genesis and use it often. We still prefer grilled chicken and our steaks seared at 600*. The Pit Boss is for slow cooking for us. 5 hours for ribs, 6-8 hours for a Pork Butt, etc. I still like the speed of the Weber and the low and slow of the Pit Boss. Best of both worlds.

My gasser died, which is what got me looking for my Camp Chef Woodwind SG. I got the Sear Box for the gasser stuff and of course searing

I'm giving my natural gas smoker (Masterbuilt 40", converted from propane) to my neighbor since I bought a pellet smoker last weekend. I'm keeping my natural gas grill though, they're for different purposes.

The only thing my Masterbuilt does better is hold more cold smoking stuff. There's definitely more room in it for meat smoking too, but I rarely need to do more than a single brisket, two pork butts, or two chickens. My new GMG can handle that, so there's no reason for me to keep the gas smoker.
